EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University senior Andrew Northrup placed 23rd among 242 runners to help the Flyers to a 12th-place finish at the Border War Invitational Saturday afternoon. Northrup ran the 8K course in 27:11.89, leading the Flyer men for a fourth time in as many meets this fall. Behind Northrup and in 36th place was freshman Andy Lepkowski (27:29.03). Senior Adrian Myers was 66th (28:21.35); junior Patrick Walsh came in 77th (28:44.99); junior Jeff Ritzema finished 94th (29:23.94); and senior Kevin Dockemeyer was 104th (29:23.94). The Flyers secured 293 points to finish just ahead of host SIU-Edwardsville (311 points) in the 27-team field. The meet was the Flyers' final tune-up before the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships set for Oct. 20. |
