Individual Results
BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Sophomore Andy Lepkowski defeated 130 other runners to earn the men's 8,000 meters individual championship at the Bulldog Invite on Friday afternoon. Lepkowski dominated the field. His time of 25:49.08 was 25 seconds better than the second place finisher. As a team, Lewis finished in fifth with 125 points. Senior Patrick Walsh was next for Lewis, turning in a 25th place performance (27:24.25). Freshman Scott Tanis was two spots behind with a 27:33.14 time. Freshman Rocky Medero also finished in the points, crossing the finish line in 27:53.54 for 39th. Senior Kevin Dockemeyer's time of 28:13.83 was 45th overall. Freshman John Deutsch and Freshman Ross Goers also ran for Lewis. Deutsch came in 46th (28:17.75). Goers finished in 54th (28:36.44). Hillsdale won the event with 51 points. The Flyers are back on the course on Sept. 27 at the Roy Griak Invitational. |
