MUNCIE, Ind. - Alex Vigansky and Drew Pickering each tallied a team-high 10 kills as the Lewis Flyers fell to No. 10 Ball State 3-0 (30-24, 30-24, 30-26) Saturday night in a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association match. The Flyers' record dropped to 9-15 (2-7 MIVA), while Ball State improved to 19-5 (7-4 MIVA). Vigansky's 10 kills came on 15 attempts with only one error for a .600 hitting effort. He also had one solo and four assist blocks. Pickering hit .200 and added seven digs, while Mykolai Zerebeckyj led the Flyers with eight digs. David Kelnhofer and Billy Sahagian each registered seven kills. Patrick Durbin's 12 kills and Ian Peckler's 14 digs led Ball State. Mark Termion contributed nine kills, while Matt McCarthy, Evan Berg and Doug Willmann each totaled seven kills. Ball State out-hit Lewis .217 to .132. Both teams collected 10 blocks. The Flyers return to action next Friday at Mercyhurst at 7 pm. |
