ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Drew Pickering led Lewis with 11 kills and Billy Sahagian added 10 as the Flyers took down Rutgers-Newark 30-19, 30-26, 30-19, Saturday night in a non-conference match at Neil Carey Arena.

Lewis improved to 16-10, while the Scarlet raiders fell to 2-23.

Pickering hit .667 and also posted a match-best five blocks (1BS-4BA). Sahagian hit .818, registering his 10 kills on 11 attempts with only one error. Alex Vigansky and David Kelnhofer each added nine kills, hitting .727 and .533 respectively. Vigansky also came up with three block assists, while Kelnhofer had two.

Jared Dayton totaled eight kills, three digs and two block assists. Nick Perakes led the Flyers with seven digs, and Jordan Vidovic had 44 assists.

Rutgers-Newark's' Eric Honsberger led all players with 13 kills and nine digs.

The Flyers hit at a .532 clip, while the Scarlet Raiders were held to a .193 effort. Lewis maintained a 9-5 advantage in total blocks.

The Flyers host Milwaukee School of Engineering on Tuesday at 7 pm.
