COLUMBUS, OHIO - David Kelnhofer's match-high 15 kills were not enough for the Lewis Flyers in a 3-0 loss (30-23, 30-25, 30-17) to No. 11 Ohio State University, Saturday night in a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association match. The Flyers fell to 8-13 (2-5 MIVA), while Ohio State improved to 16-7 (4-2 MIVA). Kelnhofer hit .357 for the match and also had three digs. Drew Pickering notched 13 kills with five digs, and Alex Vigansky added eight kills and one assisted block. Nick Perakes had a match-best seven digs and Jordan Vidovic tallied 47 assists. Mykolai Zerebeckyj and Billy Sahagian each contributed five kills. The Buckeyes received 14 kills from Brett Versen and 12 from Sam Stevens. John Albertson led Ohio State with six digs, and Daniel Mathews added 42 assists. Ohio State out-hit Lewis .463 to .260 and out-blocked the Flyers 11-2. The Flyers return home for a match against University of California Santa Cruz on Tuesday at 7 pm. |
