ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Drew Pickering posted a match-high 13 kills, hitting a blistering .812, as the Lewis Flyers dismantled Clarke 30-22, 30-10, 30-19 Friday night at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers, who have won three of their last four matches, improved to 14-7. Clarke fell to 11-13. In addition to his impressive attack numbers, Pickering served two aces, matched a team high with four digs and added four assisted blocks. The sophomore outside hitter, who served 21 aces last year, now has 40 for the season. David Kelnhofer set a career high by registering four aces. He also hit .357 with nine kills and collected four digs. Billy Sahagian hit .700 with eight kills, posted a team-best six assisted blocks and served two aces. Jared Dayton totaled eight kills with a .500 hitting effort. The Flyers hit .500 (46-11-70), while limiting the Crusaders to a -.060 (20-24-67) effort. Lewis out-blocked Clarke 11-4 and held a 9-2 advantage in ace serves. The Flyers return to action on March 23, playing at Hawaii. |
