ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Jared Dayton and Drew Pickering combined for 32 of the Flyers' 60 kills in a 30-23, 24-30, 30-14, 30-24 win over Quincy Friday night in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association action at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers improved to 9-3 (4-3), while Quincy fell to 1-7 (0-2). Dayton hit .419 (17-4-31), matched a career high with seven block assists and collected six digs. Pickering hit .258 (15-7-31), totaled seven digs and had three aces. Alex Vigansky set a season high with eight blocks (1BS-7BA), and he hit .750 by connecting on 9-of-12 attack attempts with no errors. Billy Sahagian added a career-best eight blocks (1BS-7BA), and Nick Perakes led the Flyers with eight digs. Patrick Reidy paced Quincy's attack with 14 kills, while Robbie Coughlin's 11 digs were a match high. Lewis hit .333 (60-20-120) for the match while limiting the Hawks to .067 (44-36-120). The Flyers set a season high with 19 blocks. Quincy had five blocks. Lewis hosts Newman Saturday night at 8 pm. |
