David Heller begins his third season as a student assistant for the Lewis University men's volleyball team.

Heller is pursuing his MBA with an emphasis in accounting. He earned a bachelors degree in communications from Lewis in 2008. He was voted junior class president, and was a member of the Deans' List each semester.

Heller's cousin Joy Rauch played volleyball and basketball at Lewis. Heller hails from Waterloo, Neb. and attended Waterloo High School where he was valedictorian of his senior class.

He has worked the University of Nebraska and Creighton University volleyball camps. Heller also serves as an assistant coach for the Lewis women's volleyball program, helping the squad to two GLVC Championships during his time.
