Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University redshirt sophomore Uno Lapimaa (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese) ended his fall campaign on a high note, as the Estonia native claimed the Flight 2 Singles Championship at the 3rd Annual Lewis Flyer Men's Tennis Classic with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Grand Valley State's Marc Roesslein.

Lapimaa, however, was not as successful in doubles action, as he and teammate Lorenz Pestinger (Bad Homburg, Germany/Humboldtschule/Missouri Valley) dropped an 8- 5 decision at the hands of Roesslein and his teammate Tony Dang.

"It was another solid day for our team," Lewis assistant men's tennis coach Slavko Radman said. "We closed out our fall season with some promising performances and we're hoping that will carry over into the spring season."

The Flyers other finalist Jesse Hardacre (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) fell short in his bid for the Flight 3 singles championship, as Grand Valley State's Jeff Globerson claimed the 6-4, 6-0 win.

Lewis opens the spring campaign on February 12th, as they take on Minnesota State-Mankato in Houghton, Michigan.

A Catholic university sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis offers nearly 80 undergraduate majors and programs of study, accelerated degree completion options for working adults, various aviation programs and 22 graduate programs in nine fields. The 10th largest private, not-for-profit university in Illinois is being honored for the sixth consecutive year by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report.
