Sept. 18, 2005 KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State executed a first-half corner kick to score the only goal of the game Sunday in a 1-0 Great Lakes Region win over Lewis. Mike Boyle tallied his second goal of the season with an assist from Martin Clayes at the 30:30 mark to lift the Bulldogs, who improved to 5-2. Lewis is now 4-3. After Truman State carried the play in the first half, the Flyers turned the tables with an inspired performance and recorded advantages in shots on goal (4-1), total shots (8-6) and corner kicks (3-0) in the final 45 minutes. Brian Byrne made five saves and Anthony Szymel added a save in goal for Lewis, which returns to Great Lakes Valley Conference play Friday at Northern Kentucky. |
