ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The "M" boys were magnificent for the Lewis University men's soccer team in a 3-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Kentucky Wesleyan Sunday afternoon. Craig McIntosh, Mike Marchese and Cory Mastey scored a goal apiece, and Anthony Marsico tallied two assists as the Flyers (4-0, 2-0 GLVC) remained perfect on the season. McIntosh, with assists from Nestor Hernandez and Tim Vance, gave Lewis the only scoring it would need at the 21:23 mark. The goal was the first of the season for McIntosh, while Hernandez registered his team-leading third helper of the year. Marchese netted his first goal of the season at 77:01, and Mastey assumed the team lead by scoring his third goal at 85:24. Marsico collected an assist on both goals. The Flyers earned big advantages over the Panthers (0-2, 0-2 GLVC) in total shots (32-5), shots on goal (9-1) and corner kicks (6-1). Lewis travels to Indianapolis on Friday for an early-season GLVC showdown between two undefeated, untied teams. |
