Sept. 3, 2004 MIDLAND, Mich. - Freshman Anthony Marsico scored two unassisted goals, one in each half, to lift the Lewis University men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Saginaw Valley State Friday afternoon. Marsico scored his first collegiate goal at 9:38 to give the Flyers (3-0) all the offense they would need. He added an insurance tally at 68:45. Freshman Dan Breen and senior Jordan Gustman each played a half in goal, stopping all three Saginaw Valley shots on goal to register Lewis' first shutout of the season. The Flyers outshot the Cardinals 22-9, including 8-3 in shots on goal. Lewis stays in Midland to take on Northwood Sunday. |
