ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Mike Dahm scored two goals and five other players tallied a goal apiece for the Lewis University men's soccer team Friday in the Flyers' 7-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference romp over Kentucky Wesleyan. The Flyers, ranked No. 5 in the Central Region of NCAA Division II, improved to 7-4-2 overall and 6-1 in the GLVC with their fifth successive victory, while Kentucky Wesleyan fell to 1-11-1, 0-7-1. Dahm opened the scoring at 29:38 with an assist from Tito Lara. Goals by Alejandro Blinder (Justin Sanabria assist) at 39:05, Gabe Leon (Sebastian Falinski) at 41:16 and Sergio Lira (Lara) at 44:21 gave Lewis a 4-0 halftime cushion. Dahm's second goal was unassisted at 57:27. Nick Kowalski (Blinder) and Mike Marchese (Michael Waters, Brandon Peterson) scored at 70:39 and 89:06, respectively, while Kentucky Wesleyan's Andy Donohoe netted his team's only goal (unassisted) at 75:25. Lewis outshot KWC 29-3, including 12-3 in shots on goal, and earned a 14-1 margin in corner kicks. The Flyers host GLVC opponent Bellarmine Sunday at 2:30 p.m. |
