Oct. 8, 2005 CLEVELAND, Miss. - Lloyd Roth tied for fifth place among 97 golfers to lead the Lewis University men's golf team to fifth place at Delta State University's 19-team Derrall Foreman Invitational. Roth followed an opening-round 74 at the 6,686-yard Cleveland Country Club with an even-par 72 to finish at 146, five strokes behind medalist Brock Robillard of Lindenwood. His 5-under-par total on the par-5 holes tied for the second-best score of the tournament. Teammates Sumeet Arora, Jacob Nagy and Brian Carlson also posted lower second-round scores. Arora (81-71=152) and Nagy (78-74=152) tied for 31st, while Carlson (77-76=153) tied for 38th. Nagy's second-round 74 was his best score of the season. The Flyers posted team scores of 310 and 293 for a 603 total in their fall finale, just one shot behind fourth-place Arkansas Tech. |
