Dagys And Pyne Lead Men's Golf At Murray State Invitational

MURRAY, Ky. - Senior Paul Dagys (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) and junior Casey Pyne (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) each shot a 73 to lead Lewis and tie for 23rd during the opening round of the Murray State Invitational on Monday.

As a team the Flyers shot a 297 for 12th at the 14 team tournament. Lewis is just four shots back of seventh place.

Senior Peter Tanaka (Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) finished with a 75 to tie for 44th. One shot back with a 76 was junior Logan Watts (New Albany, Ind./New Albany). Freshman Brandon White (Sellersburg, Ind./Silver Creek) tied for 68th with an 80.

Freshman Mark Bermele (Evergreen Park, Ill./Brother Rice) played as an individual, firing an 82 to tie for 71st.

Murray State leads after the opening round with a 281. Lewis wraps up the tournament on Tuesday.
