MURRAY, Ky. - Lloyd Roth fired a career-best and team season-best 67 in the final round to lead the Lewis University men's golf team to eighth place at the Murray State Invitational. Roth tied for 15th place among 82 golfers, most of them NCAA Division I competitors, with a 4-over-par total of 217 (74-76-67). Brian Carlson also fared well, tying for 17th and trailing Roth by just one stroke (71-75-72=218). Sumeet Arora tied for 48th at 226 (74-75-77), while Greg Roderique finished strongly with a career-best 73 in the final round and tied for 60th (82-75-73=230). Peter Tanaka, playing his first tournament as a Flyer, tied for 67th (82-73-78=233), and Rob Peters placed 77th (76-84-78=238). Lewis registered rounds of 295-299-294 for an 888 total. The Flyers defeated Division I teams Southern Illinois, Tennessee-Martin, Loyola Chicago, Birmingham-Southern and Chicago State. |
