Oct. 4, 2005 MURRAY, Ky. - Lewis University freshman Sumeet Arora enjoyed the best performance of his young collegiate career, tying for eighth place among 69 golfers at the Murray State University Invitational that concluded Tuesday. Arora opened the 54-hole tournament with a 4-under-par 67 - the best score by a Flyer this season - and followed with rounds of 71 and 73 for a 2-under total of 211 at the 6,601-yard Miller Memorial Golf Course. Lloyd Roth also finished in the upper half of the standings, tying for 28th with scores of 72-75-72=219. Brian Carlson tied for 35th (71-74-76=221), Shawn Williams tied for 53rd (73-78-77=228), and Jacob Nagy finished 63rd (77-76-79=232). Williams' opening-round 73 and Nagy's second-round 76 were personal season bests. Lewis and Indianapolis, the only two non-NCAA Division I teams in the 13-team field, tied for ninth place. The Flyers carded a season-best 283 in round one and added a 296 and a 298 for an 877 total. |
