Sept. 18, 2005 BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Lloyd Roth's 3-under-par 69 in the second round tied his collegiate career best and lifted him into an eighth-place tie at the Ferris State Invitational, played Saturday and Sunday at the 6,678-yard Katke Golf Course. Roth rebounded from an opening-round 77 and finished at 2-over-par 146, six strokes behind medalist Eric Atsma of Findlay. Sumeet Arora turned in back-to-back rounds of 74 for a 148 total and a tie for 12th place, while Brian Carlson, who led the field with nine birdies in the 36-hole tournament, tied for 16th (70-79=149). Also competing for the Flyers were Shawn Williams, 61st (77-83=160), and Greg Roderique, 73rd (100-96=196). Lewis placed sixth among 11 teams with rounds of 298-305 for a 603 total. Host Ferris State (581) won the team title. |
