Sept. 16, 2006 BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Lewis University men's golf team tied for third place among 10 teams at Ferris State's Bulldog Fall Invitational on Saturday. Brian Carlson (70-75=145) and Josh Butterfield (72-73=145) led the Flyers, tying for 12th place among 66 golfers at 1-over-par on Ferris State's 6,676-yard Katke Golf Course. Carlson's first-round 70 tied his Lewis career best. Also competing for Lewis, which carded rounds of 290 and 299 for a 589 total, were Lloyd Roth, tied for 26th (72-76=148); Sumeet Arora, tied for 45th (79-75=154); and Rob Peters, tied for 49th (76-80=156). Grand Valley State and Saginaw Valley State tied for first at 578, with Grand Valley State claiming the team title in a playoff. Lewis tied with host Ferris State. |
