April 8, 2007 COLUMBUS, Ind. - Three Lewis University golfers shot 74 Sunday to lift the Flyers to a first-place tie after one round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship. Lewis golfers Josh Butterfield, Lloyd Roth and Greg Roderique are tied for fourth in the individual standings at 2-over-par 74, one stroke behind the leaders. Sumeet Arora and Brian Carlson each carded a 75 to land in a tie for 13th. At 297, the Flyers are deadlocked with defending champion Northern Kentucky for the lead in the 54-hole tournament. Bellarmine and Southern Illinois Edwardsville are tied for third at 301. Wisconsin-Parkside (308) rounds out the top five in the 13-team field. The GLVC Championship is being contested at the 6,897-yard Otter Creek Golf Course. |
