Buffone, who won Tennessee-Martin's Grover Page Classic two weeks ago, carded a 3-under-par 141 (70-71) at the par-72, 7,126-yard Perry Park Golf Course to edge Grand Valley State's Kyle Murphy by one stroke. Teammate Lloyd Roth fired a career-best 69 in the final round and tied for third place in the 100-player field, two shots back at 143 (74-69). Also competing for Lewis were Curt Trizzino, tied for 32nd (74-77=151), Peter Schrum, tied for 49th (76-78=154), and Dean Katsaros, tied for 84th (83-80=163). The Flyers posted rounds of 294 and 295 for a 589 total, nine shots behind champion Grand Valley State. The tournament featured 21 NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region teams.
