March 19, 2006 CRITTENDON, Ky. - Lloyd Roth led a trio of Lewis golfers who finished among the top 15, and the Flyers placed a solid fourth at Northern Kentucky's LaRosa's Collegiate Cup Saturday and Sunday. Roth tied for fourth in the 62-player field, firing rounds of 71-70 for a 1-over-par 141 at the 6,311-yard Eagle Creek Country Club. Brian Carlson (70-75=145), whose opening-round 70 tied his season best, and Sumeet Arora (71-74=145) tied for 14th. Rob Peters (73-78=151) tied for 34th, Greg Roderique (83-74=157) tied for 47th and Jacob Nagy (82-81=163) tied for 57th. Peters' first-round 73 is his season best, and Roderique's second-round 74 tied his season low. The Flyers missed their season best by just two shots with an opening-round 285 and carded a 293 on the final day to finish at 578, 16 shots behind champion Northern Kentucky. Bellarmine (572) was second and Grand Valley State (573) was third in the nine-team tournament that featured seven Great Lakes Valley Conference squads. |
