March 12, 2007 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University sophomore guard Brandon Dagans has been selected to the Daktronics men's basketball NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region first team by a vote of region sports information directors. Dagans, who earlier was named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference first team, led the GLVC in scoring (18.7/game) and was ninth in assists (3.81/game), making him the only player to rank among the league's top 10 in both categories. He finished the season ranked 60th on the Division II scoring list. In other GLVC categories, Dagans was 11th in 3-point field-goal percentage (.438); 13th in free-throw percentage (.803), 3-point field goals (1.88/game) and minutes (31.15/game); and 14th in assist-turnover ratio (1.15:1). He averaged 4.3 rebounds and tied for the team lead with 31 steals. Dagans scored 20 or more points in a team-best 16 games, including 14 of his last 17 outings. His career-high 37 points in a double-overtime win at Bellarmine included GLVC season highs of 16 free throws made and 20 free throws attempted. By virtue of his all-region first-team selection, Dagans' name will appear on the Daktronics Division II All-America ballot. |
