March 1, 2007 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University sophomore guard Brandon Dagans has been selected to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference first team by a vote of the league's head men's basketball coaches, and junior forward Stephan Bolt was named All-GLVC honorable mention. Dagans is the only underclassman on the first team, joining four seniors. He leads the GLVC in scoring (18.7/game) and is 10th in assists (3.81/game), making him the only player among the league's top 10 in both categories. Dagans also ranks among the conference leaders in 3-point field goals (1.88/game, tied for 11th), minutes (31.15/game, 12th), 3-point field-goal percentage (.438, tied for 12th) and free-throw percentage (.803, 13th). Dagans has scored 20 or more points in 14 of his last 17 games. He made 10 or more free throws in five games this season and registered GLVC season bests of 16 free throws made and 20 attempts in a double-overtime win at Bellarmine. Bolt is one of only two GLVC players averaging a double-double in rebounding (10.0/game) and scoring (15.7/game), ranking second and 13th, respectively, in those categories. He is 11th in NCAA Division II in rebounding. Bolt also is among the league's top 10 in offensive rebounding (3.13/game, second), field-goal percentage (.561, seventh) and minutes (32.46/game, seventh), and he is 14th in steals (1.25/game). He shot 50 percent or better in 17 of his 24 regular-season games, and his 19 rebounds in a win at Missouri-St. Louis are the most by a GLVC player this year. |
