Chris Skinkis begins his first season as a graduate assistant for the Lewis University men's basketball team. Skinkis spent the 2006 and 2007 seasons as the assistant coach/recruiting coordinator for St. Norbert College in DePere, Wis. Skinkis assisted in all areas of the basketball department. He helped with recruiting, including scouting high school games, contacting prospects and coordinating campus visits. Skinkis coached individual stations during breakdown drills, working with both perimeter and post players. He analyzed game tape and assisted with game plan preparation. Skinkis also served as the academic liaison for the team, monitoring the team's academic process and scheduling tutors. He organized, advertised and provided drill instruction during camps. Skinkis also managed the youth tournament, creating the schedule, hiring staff and settling disputes. A 2006 graduate of Wisconsin-Parkside with a bachelor's degree in sport and fitness management, Skinkis was a student assistant for four seasons. He assisted with player training, individual skill development and ran the scout team. Skinkis broke down film and prepared scouting reports. He also assisted with recurring, attending high school games and contacting prospects. In the office, Skinkis helped organize recruiting and camp databases. Skinkis attended Seymour High School in Seymour, Wis. He played basketball, baseball and football all four years. Skinkis is pursuing a master's degree in organizational leadership. |
