SAUGET, Ill. - Kevin Tyrrell had three hits for the Lewis University baseball team Saturday in the Flyers' Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader loss at Missouri-St. Louis.

The seven-inning opener was a 4-0 Missouri-St. Louis victory in which the Rivermen scored all of their runs in the third inning off Lewis starter Ryan Duran (0-4), who allowed just three hits in 5 1/3 innings. Tyrrell, Mike Smith and Bryan Druktenis accounted for the Flyers' three hits.

In the nightcap, Missouri-St. Louis (10-4, 7-3 GLVC) jumped to an 8-0 lead after three innings on its way to a 12-2 win. Lewis (2-17, 2-9 GLVC) scored twice in the eighth on an RBI single by Brad Wanda that plated Michael Fedoruk and an RBI double by Smith that brought home Tyrrell.

Tyrrell and Billy Duffy each collected a double and a single.

Starter Adam Stabosz (1-3) absorbed the loss for the Flyers, who conclude the series against UMSL with a single game Sunday.
