LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Lewis left-hander Jon Guzzo allowed just seven hits and a walk while striking out six over eight innings, but Bellarmine came up with just enough offense and edged the Flyers 2-1 Sunday afternoon to complete a three-game Great Lakes Valley Conference sweep. Guzzo (0-3) yielded single runs in the first and seventh to the Knights, who improved to 7-13 overall and 5-2 in conference play. Lewis (2-12, 2-4 GLVC) scored its only run in the eighth. Ryan Reynolds led off with a single and advanced to second on a passed ball. After Brian Clancy walked, Joe Musolino advanced Joe Walsh - pinch running for Reynolds - and Clancy with a bunt, and Joe Carbone plated Walsh with a groundout. Billy Duffy collected two of the Flyers' five hits. |
