Dan Szmergalski is in his third season as an assistant coach with the Lewis baseball team. His duties include working with the Lewis infielders and hitters. Prior to Lewis, Szmergalski coached three seasons at highly ranked Brother Rice High School in Chicago that saw the program play in the state finals for the first time since 1983. Szmergalski played collegiate ball at Saint Joseph's College of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Business. He is a 2000 graduate of Brother Rice High School and resides in Chicago. Szmergalski is employed as a Tactical officer for Cook County and has worked in the gang, home-confinement and intensive supervision units. |
