Scott Barnas Named To USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team

Romeoville, Ill. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Tuesday (July 7), that Lewis' Scott Barnas (Oak Lawn, Ill./St. Laurence) has been named to the 2009 USTFCCCA Division II Men's All-Academic Track and Field Team.

To qualify for the squad, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.

Barnas, who provisionally qualified in both the indoor and outdoor shot put, was a Delahanty Award recipient, given to Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence, and was named to the Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference squad after posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.41 in biology.
