BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Three Lewis University track and field athletes registered NCAA Division II provisional qualifying times at Indiana University's Billy Hayes Invitational. Adrian Myers turned in the Flyers' most impressive performance of the meet. Myers virtually assured himself a spot in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships by clocking a 1:50.28 in the 800 meters, the second-fastest time in the nation to date and less than a half-second away from the automatic qualifying standard. Andy Tremble ran a provisional time of 3:53.61 in the men's 1,500 meters, while Terran Wertz posted a provisional mark of 4:42.74 in the women's 1,500 meters. Also, Erin Mitchell broke her own school record in the pole vault with an effort of 10-4, and the men's 4x100-meter relay team of Byron Toliver, Eric McCants, Geoff Rozovics and Dave Dobersztyn finished second (:41.50). |
