ROMEOVILLE - Lewis University athletes won six events and posted 14 additional top-three finishes Saturday at the Lewis University Invitational. The Lewis women captured victories in four events. Terran Wertz won the 800 meters (2:21.23), Erin Mitchell won the pole vault (10-0) and Katie Barney won the long jump (17-11½), and the 4x200-meter relay team won in 1:50.63. Men's winners were Geoff Rozovics in the 400 meters (:50.44) and the 4x200-meter relay team (1:31.91). Millennium Wheeler placed second in the triple jump (34-10) and Sarah King tied for second in the pole vault (9-6) for the Flyer women. Kaydie King finished third in the 55-meter hurdles (:09.16) and tied for third in the high jump (4-10), and Sarah Niemiec tied for third in the pole vault (9-6). Rozovics in the 200 meters (:22.45), Dan Probst in the 35-pound weight throw (55-7), Larry Anzalone in the 3,000 meters (8:50.87) and Jeff Zoellick in the pole vault (14-6) were runners-up for the Flyer men. Zoellick in the high jump (6-2), J'ean Middleton in the 55-meter hurdles (:07.99), Josh Thompson in the 1,600 meters (4:30.42) and Andrew Northrup in the 3,000 meters (8:51.73) finished third, and Brian Finch tied for third in the pole vault (13-0). |
