ROMEOVILLE - Lewis University track and field athletes won 15 events, posted three NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks and tied one school record at the Flyers' own Friday Night Special indoor meet. Jasmine Williams, Kaydie King and Alicia Wiese each won two events for the women's team. Williams captured the 55 meters (7.50) and 200 meters (27.36), King won the 55-meter hurdles (8.94) and long jump (16-4½), and Wiese was victorious in the shot put (41-9) and weight throw (53-10). Christina James won the 400 meters (1:01.51) and Heidi Bloom won the triple jump (33-8). Also for the Lewis women, Erin Mitchell tied her own school record in the pole vault by soaring 10-0, good for a second-place tie in the event. For the Flyer men, Brian Pedersen won the 200 meters with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 22.33. Also winning were Dave Dobersztyn in the 55 meters (6.52), Andy Tremble in the mile (4:21.54), Prince Ntim in the triple jump (46-3), Jason Klein in the shot put (50-1), the 4x200-meter relay team and the 4x400-meter relay team. In the pole vault, Mark Zilch and Billy Stadele each posted an NCAA provisional mark of 16-6 to tie for second place behind former Flyer Duane Chappell. |
