April 17, 2007 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University men's and women's swimming team had 10 student athletes selected the 2006-07 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office. The 10 student athletes named to the All-Academic team are the most in program history. Four swimmers earned the honor following the 2004-05 season, the program's first year of competition in the GLIAC, and six received recognition last season. For the men, seniors Jevgenijs Pesins and Steve O'Leary and sophomores Greg Marx and Brian Zankowski made the list. On the women's side, seniors Leigh Dodd, Trisha Meyerchick and Michelle Sliva, juniors Stephanie White-Olson and Jackie Olivares and sophomore Tracey Kueltzo earned the accolade. To qualify for the GLIAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Freshmen and first-year transfer students are not eligible for the award. |
