ROMEOVILLE, Ill.--Junior Adam Bidlack, a junior college transfer in his first season at Lewis, set a pair of Lewis University pool records and a school record as he helped the swimming teams in their dual meet against Grand Valley State. The Flyer men claimed victories in seven of the eleven events, but lost to the Lakers because of Grand Valley's greater depth. Meanwhile, the Lewis women had winners in two events. Bidlack registered a school and pool record in the 1000 freestyle after winning the event with a 10:01.77. His time smashed the previous school (10:04.93) and pool (10:14.59) records; the pool record had stood since November 9, 2001, while the school record was set last season. He then added a third record to his day when he won the 500 freestyle in 4:55.15. He broke the previous pool record (4:56.50) by more than a second. In addition, the men's 400 medley relay team consisting of Michael Lapustin, Dave Borowski, Jevegnijs Pesins and Josh Rogers set a pool record after placing first in 3:38.82. The time was the third fastest in school history. Other Flyer men who won an event were: Rogers (200 free, 1:48.74), Lapustin (50 free, 21.91; 200 back 1:58.77), and the 400 freestyle relay squad (3:18.17). The 400 free relay was comprised of Rogers, Alex Pepke, Kurt Niemeier and Bidlack. For the women, Brittany Reetz won the 100 freestyle (55.26) in her fastest October time of her career. Also, the 400 freestyle relay squad--Michelle Sliva, Tristine Schmidt, Leigh Dodd and Reetz--produced the top time in the event with a 3:46.83. They did not record points for the team as they were entered as an exhibition. However, Marissa Andrews, Megan Stevenson, Staci Neuman and Jackie Olivares were the official winners of the race with a 4:10.55. Below is a list of individual meet highlights:
