HILLSDALE, Mich. - Lewis recorded 13 victories in a dual meet with Ashland and Hillsdale on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Deirdre Mikolajcik recorded three victories including an NCAA B time. Freshman Kevin Coates had an NCAA B time and recorded two victories. Sophomore Adam Olszeski and senior Stephanie White-Olson each won two races.

The Lewis women defeated Hillsdale, which doesn't sponsor men's swimming, 87-45. The men were edged by Ashland 130-127 and the women fell 78-54 for a total of 208-181.

Mikolajcik notched victories in the 200 yard freestyle (1:58.21) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:14.30). Her NCAA B time came in her victory in the 200 yard backstroke, touching the wall at 2:09.38. In the 200 yard freestyle, freshman Allie Henges came in second with a time of 1:59.13. Mikolajcik dominated the entire day, winning the 200 yard backstroke seven seconds ahead of the second place finisher and the 500 yard freestyle 12 seconds in front of the closest competitor.

Coates won the 1000 yard freestyle with an NCAA B time of 9:43.61 and 500 yard freestyle (4:44.33). Sophomore Jared Zimmer finished just behind Coates in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:47.06. Olszeski notched first place performances in the 100 yard backstroke (54.80) and the 200 yard backstroke (1:58.72). White-Olson finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:10.02) and won the 200 yard breaststroke (2:29.38) by more than four seconds.

Henges finished first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:13.70. Freshman Kayla Muir won the 100 yard backstroke, stopping the clock at 1:01.90.

For the men, freshman Arty Czarobski won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.57. In second was Flyers freshman Luke Pavlakovich, touching the wall at 1:03.91. Senior Adam Brown won the 200 yard butterfly (1:58.49).

Both the Lewis men and women finished second in the four relay races of the day. Muir, White-Olson, Henges and sophomore Nicole Marano recorded a time of 4:11.32 in the 400 yard medley relay. Henges, Marano, freshman Stephanie Halcomb and Mikolajcik notched a time of 3:45.43 in the 400 yard freestyle relay. For the men, freshman Evan Childers, freshman Allan Sliva, Zimmer and junior Greg Marx finished with a time of 3:18.59 in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Olszeski, freshman Tom Fitzgerald, Sliva and Childers notched a time of 3:42.86 in the 400 yard medley relay.

The Flyers are at Truman State next Saturday.
