Greg Petty (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) and freshman middle hitter
Bobby Walsh (Chicago, Ill./Mount Carmel) have been selected to join the 22-player U.S Men's Junior National Volleyball Training Team, USA Volleyball announced.
The U.S. Men's Junior National Training Team will first gather June 16-20 in Southern California and scrimmage Russia's boys' youth national team. From the roster of 22, 12 players will be chosen to compete in the U21 Pan American Cup (July 12-20) in Costa Rica, as well as the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship (Aug. 22-Sept. 1) in Turkey.

Dan Friend said. “For Lewis to have two young standout volleyball players get a chance to compete at this level is fantastic.”
Petty was a starting outside hitter of the 2012 Junior National team that won gold at the Men's Volleyball Junior NORCECA Volleyball Championship with a 3-1 victory over Canada. He was an instrumental member of the Flyers repeating as regular season Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association champions and finishing the 2013 season ranked as the No. 10 team in the American Volleyball Coaches Association final poll.
Walsh, a 2013 All-MIVA Second Team honoree, averaged 1.20 blocks-per-set (four solo, 128 block assists). Walsh also tallied 174 kills and hit at a .466 clip (174 kills, 23 errors, 324 attempts) in his first season with the Flyers.
