Lewis' Aunapuu Advances To 'Sweet 16' Of Midwest Regional Men's Tennis Championship

Aunapuu defeated Northwood's Marcus Oliveira (6-3, 6-2) and Bellarmine's Carlos Antonioli (6-0, 6-1).

Lewis sophomore Erik Aunapuu has advanced to the 'Sweet 16' of the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Singles Tournament.

Indianapolis, Ind. - Lewis University sophomore Erik Aunapuu (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) won both of his singles matches at the USTA / ITA D2 Men's Tennis Midwest Regional Championship to advance to the 'Sweet 16' of the 'A' Flight on Friday (Sept. 28) afternoon.

Aunapuu defeated Northwood's Marcus Oliveira (6-3, 6-2) and finished the day with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Bellarmine's Carlos Antonioli. He will take on either Wayne State's Thomas Ducret or Grand Valley State's Francis Bertrand on Saturday for the right to advance to the 'Elite Eight'.
