Amy Choi (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) have been named to the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Midwest Region team, while senior outside hitter
Colleen Mitros (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) earned an All-Midwest Region honorable mention.
In 105 sets played, Krumwiede recorded 349 kills for 3.31 kills per set, including a season-high 23 kills in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship first-round match 3-2 victory over University of Missouri-St. Louis. Krumwiede also recorded 373 digs for a 3.55 digs per set average, 17 aces, and 61 total blocks for the Flyers.
Choi posted 583 total digs, averaging 5.55 digs per set, which is second overall in the GLVC. A 2012 All-GLVC East Division honoree, Choi had 18 service aces and 70 assists in 105 sets of action.
Krumwiede and Choi will now move on to All-America consideration.
Mitros, in 129 sets played, leads the Flyers with 380 kills to average 2.95 kills per set, as well as 30 service aces. She is second on the squad with 438 digs for a 3.4 dig per set average. Mitros was also named to the 2012 All-GLVC East Division Team.
The Flyers are 26-10 after earning a share of the 2012 GLVC East Division regular season title and await their first-round match against Ferris State in the 2012 NCAA Midwest Regional in Indianapolis, Ind., on Thursday (Nov. 29) at 7:30 PM ET.
